Propagator

Symbolica documentation for getting started, symbolic expressions, numerical evaluation, pattern matching, and APIs in Python and Rust.

Propagator

class Propagator

A particle propagator with symbolic numerator and denominator.

Propagator formulas are kept in their model representation so that diagram construction can combine them with interaction Lorentz structures.

Examples

from symbolica import S, E
from symbolica.community import hepkit as hep
model = hep.Model.standard_model()
propagator = model.propagators[0]
formula = propagator.numerator / propagator.denominator

Attributes

Name Description
denominator Return the symbolic propagator denominator.
name Return the propagator name.
numerator Return the symbolic propagator numerator.
particle Return the name of the particle using this propagator.

denominator

Propagator.denominator: Expression

Return the symbolic propagator denominator.

Examples

Using the setup in the Propagator class example:

inverse_propagator = propagator.denominator

name

Propagator.name: builtins.str

Return the propagator name.

Examples

Using the setup in the Propagator class example:

propagators_by_name = {item.name: item for item in model.propagators}

numerator

Propagator.numerator: Expression

Return the symbolic propagator numerator.

Examples

Using the setup in the Propagator class example:

formula = propagator.numerator / propagator.denominator

particle

Propagator.particle: builtins.str

Return the name of the particle using this propagator.

Examples

Using the setup in the Propagator class example:

propagator = model.propagators[0]
particle = model.particle(propagator.particle)

Methods

Name Description
__repr__ Summarize the defining data as well as the propagator name.
_repr_html_ Display the model member’s physical data and defining expressions.
_repr_pretty_ Write the complete text summary to an IPython pretty printer.

__repr__

Propagator.__repr__() -> builtins.str

Summarize the defining data as well as the propagator name.

Examples

Using the setup in the Propagator class example:

print(model.propagators[0])

_repr_html_

Propagator._repr_html_() -> builtins.str

Display the model member’s physical data and defining expressions.

Examples

Using the setup in the Propagator class example:

from IPython.display import display
display(propagator)

_repr_pretty_

Propagator._repr_pretty_(pretty: typing.Any, cycle: builtins.bool) -> None

Write the complete text summary to an IPython pretty printer.

Examples

Using the setup in the Propagator class example:

from IPython.lib.pretty import pretty
text = pretty(propagator)

Parameters

  • pretty (object) IPython pretty printer receiving the text.
  • cycle (bool) Whether the object occurs recursively in the current display.
